XLC have used a CroMo axle, and a CNC-machined sealed ball bearing for ultimate smoothness in your pedal stroke. Sealing the bearing means it won’t be at risk from mud and water ingress, which in turn would strip the grease from the bearing, significantly reducing the lifespan of the pedal.
